Another treatment you’ll want to do is to vacuum and sweep your floors more often. Whether we like it or not, we lose hair on a daily basis. Hair can land on another persons clothes and also on furniture through out the house. If a uninfected person sits on a couch were a few strands of hair have fallen that contain lice, then the persons chance of getting head lice has greatly increased. When you vacuum more often you decrease the chance of a lice re-infestation in your home and with your children.
Before you use any of the head lice medication shampoos please read the instructions and warnings and be sure to use the best head lice comb. Instructions will always be clearly printed on the bottle. Also, your physician should be able to give you instructions on the medicine that he prescribes for you, if any. People with long hair and heavy infestations may require more than one bottle depending upon the amount of lice that is in their hair. Several bottles may be needed if there is a heavy infestation of lice and a lot of eggs that are waiting to hatch. Some medicines will not kill off eggs so additional treatment will be required for an effective lice treatment.
